Construct Quarter: Gluth
Monday, 01 December 2008 03:02
Quick Navigation:

Abilities:

Mortal Wound: Stackable debuff that reduces healing by 10% - lasts 15 seconds
Decimate: Decimates all players and zombies in room dealing 95% damage
Terrifying Roar: Fears all players within 20 yards
Devour Zombie: Comsumes all zombies within melee range healing for 5% health
Frenzy: increases damage and attack speed for 10 seconds - can be removed with Tranquilizing Shot
Berserk: casts after the 4th decimate and increases all damage done by 1,000%

Strategy:

Gluth is a unique fight in that it requires the raid to form a small group to focus on the zombies while the rest of the raid focuses on the boss.

Position of the Raid

Have the main tank pull Gluth the end of the room and tank him there - with the boss facing the raid. This is done so the healers can max range heal the tank along with the group kiting the zombies. An off tank will need to ocassional taunt Gluth when the main tank has over 5 mortal wounds. 2-3 ranged players will need to grab any zombie that spawns in the room and kite them around the back of the room to prevent Gluth deom devouring them. Have the rest of the raid DPS focused in Gluth.

Approx. every 2 minuites Gluth will cast decimate - which will take all of the players down to 5% health. it will aggro all of the zombies to him as well, which will need to be focused down by all of the DPS in the raid. The healers will need to quickly heal the tanks as well first (note no one in the raid should take any dmage after a decimate until the new wave of zombies spawn) before healing up the rest of the raid. Repea

Tips and Tricks:

Zombies are subceptible to all forms of movement imparing effects but can not be crowd controlled
Gluth can devour zombies at any time - not just only duing decimates

I recommend keeping a rogue on the boss for the whole fight for a few
reasons:
-If he/she has anesthetic poison on 1 or both (both is best) of his
weapons, he/she can de-enrage the boss right away, giving the healers and tanks
a little less stress
-It will help with getting the boss down with the enrage
timer, again, give the raid a little less stress
-Rogues can't AoE very well, so
keep one on the boss for the whole time with dual anesthetic poisons on his
weps. It helps!
(Thsi is if you HAVE a rogue in your raid).(BTW, the boss won't
de-enrage with anesthetic poison on the berserk). Hunter with tranq shot works
too, and hunters can AoE as well after the single tranq shot. Good luck, it's a
fun boss.
